Michael Brintnell is a Portfolio Manager with Clear Sky Private Wealth.
Michael started in the securities industry in 1994 with Nesbitt Burns. His first exposure to the capital markets was working in the discretionary portfolio management space. In 1999 he transitioned to the planning side of the business. From 1999 to 2012, he was responsible for managing the investment portfolios for the clients of Strategic Financial Concepts Inc (SFCI).
In 2012, he joined Morrison & Partners and returned to the discretionary portfolio management world. Since that time, he has been managing the Edmonton office and servicing clients across the country. Michael currently is a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI) and holds the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation.
Jay, Co-founder and partner of Clear Sky Private Wealth since its launch in 2020 is an integral part of the growth and success of the firm. He is passionate about his clients and seeing them through all stages of their life.
Jay has been in the industry since 2004, starting off as a licensed assistant after graduating from the University of Calgary (BComm, Finance). He has gone on to become a licensed Discretionary Portfolio Manager in 2014 and holds his CIM designation.
Born and raised in Calgary, Jay and his wife Stephanie have solid roots in the community. Away from the office Jay is a passionate sports fan, enjoys golfing, and him and his wife enjoy great food and wine and spending time with their Golden Retriever Ruby.
Having a holistic view of his clients and their individual situations, Jay and the team help with financial planning, insurance, tax, wealth management, and estate planning. Jay takes pride in making sure that his clients reach their many goals.
Steve is a Chartered Professional Accountant and Certified Financial Planner who focuses on retirement projections and tax planning for clients and their corporations, as well as estates and trusts.
Steve’s career started in accounting, including a time specializing in tax at KPMG LLP, a “big four” accounting firm, but eventually shifted to become an investment advisor at CIBC Wood Gundy after witnessing the fallout of the dot-com bubble and the impacts to family retirement plans. Experiences like guiding clients through the 2008 financial crisis have reinforced a focus on risk management as an important part of the overall financial planning process.
Minimizing lifetime taxes through efficient savings, accurate retirement decumulation, and recognizing everyone’s unique circumstances, Steve can help clients navigate the complex financial decisions they face.

Boda is a professional insurance advisor who has been helping families and businesses plan for their financial security since 2006. After seeing what an unexpected disability had done to the family business he grew up in, he decided to launch his insurance career to help others. He now specializes in insurance planning for self-employed Albertans.

Many Alberta entrepreneurs are owners-operators, whose small businesses depend on their active involvement to thrive. This is why protecting them is so crucial.
Over the last 13 years, Boda has focused his work on helping Alberta small business owners to creatively structure insurance plans that protect their financial lifestyle and the businesses they have worked so hard to build.
Understanding that every business is unique, and every owner’s insurance knowledge is different, Boda provides an individualised approach to planning backed by his passion to educate and empower. He creates financial plans tailored to each client’s specific needs, while providing them with an in-depth understanding of their policy.
He emphasizes effective insurance planning and customized creative solutions to protect against uncontrollable financial risks, while providing a simplified tax efficient strategy. He is one of the few advisors in Alberta focused on living benefits and wealth transfer solutions, and his areas of practice are life insurance, disability insurance and critical illness insurance.
Ren is a CFA charterholder, who focuses on investment analysis (stock selection, new issues, ETFs, hedge & mutual funds recommendation) and portfolio management.
Ren started his career as a semiconductor design engineer upon graduating with a bachelor’s in electrical & computers engineering from the University of Toronto. Ren has always had an interest in investing and the financial markets, and after obtaining his MBA from the University of Oxford he decided to pursue his passion to work in the asset management industry.
With experiences on both the sell-side and buy-side of finance, Ren is well equipped to help clients manage their portfolios through the volatilities of the markets.
